Something Robert Mapplethorpe said always comes to my mind when I'm asked to describe myself:
"I am obsessed with beauty. I want everything to be perfect, and of course it isn't. And that's a tough place to be because you're never satisfied."
I am always refining my photography and most likely you'll find that the only constant in my work is change. My style is rather epigrammatic. I focus on personality in my portrait work shaping the images with my lighting. I like clean shots, devoid of superfluity, with witty, satirical, and sometimes paradoxical content. Coming from Germany, my cultural background is shaping my images as well.
Besides being a photographer, I am husband, father, engineer, designer, and thankful for every day where I can get up in the morning and do what I love to do.
On a more personal note: if you ever catch me staring at you I'm probably in the process of putting a photograph together in my head. Please don't feel offended and let me finish.
